Whittier College (CA), a NCAA Division III member of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference is accepting applications for a Full-Time Strength & Conditioning Coordinator.
Whittier offers 19 varsity programs in which over 37 percent of the student body participates.
Hours: Varies Exempt Status: Exempt Full Time/Part Time status: Full Time, 11 months (off July) Salary Range: $70,100-$70,700 annually; Salary will commensurate with experience, skills, and knowledge.

Position Duties & Responsibilities
Essential Functions of the Job
Responsibilities will include all aspects of strength and conditioning, including but not limited to:
Supervises weight room, provides expertise, guidance, and training in the area of year-round strength and conditioning programs for all student-athletes and sport teams at Whittier College.
Coordinates with the Head Athletic Trainer and assists with the rehabilitation program for student-athletes.
Coordinates with all head coaches on the design, implementation, and supervision of the strength and conditioning programs for all intercollegiate athletic varsity teams; including the management of web-based programs.
Provides athletes with guidance and proper training techniques for free weights and other strength training equipment; provides expertise in the area of strength (weight) training and physical conditioning as requested by the head coaches of all intercollegiate sports.
Maintains up-to-date records on the strength program of each team and specific individual workouts of student-athletes; and abides by all NCAA compliance regulations concerning the strength and conditioning coach.
Maintains the athletic weight room for facility cleanliness, keeps maintenance records of all weight room equipment, manages oversight for student-worker schedules and responsibilities during open hours, and updates the Assistant Athletic Director on needed equipment upgrades and purchase schedules.
Must be able to competently interact with a culturally and ethnically diverse population of students, faculty, and staff.
Minimum of two years of strength training experience required, with a preference in experience at the collegiate level.
Nationally recognized Strength and Conditioning Certification as approved by NCAA, First Aid and CPR certification required; a strong commitment to the student athlete concept and a working knowledge of NCAA and SCIAC rules and regulations.
The ideal candidate will possess experience working with diverse constituencies and sensitivity to multicultural issues.
With the academic rigors of a Division III Institution, the candidate should expect and have willingness to be flexible with scheduling and the requirement to work extended hours.
