JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: Langston University Department of
Athletics is
seeking applications for
the position of
Head Women's
Basketball
Coach.
Located
in
Langston,
Oklahoma,
40
miles
north
of
Oklahoma
City, Langston
University is
a
Historically Black
College
&
University
(HBCU),
an
NAIA
institution and member of
the
Sooner
Athletic Conference (SAC).
This is
a full-time 12-month position.
The
Head Strength
&
Conditioning Coach will be
a
positive,
energetic leader
who is
responsible for
the
overall management of
the
Strength
&
Conditioning program, with
student-athlete
welfare as a guiding principle.
The
Head
Strength/Conditioning/Nutrition
Head
Coach
will
proactively
work
with
coaching
staff under the
supervision of Langston Athletics to design, teach, implement, and monitor strength/conditioning/nutrition
programs for student-athletes in Langston
Athletics.
All such programs will be
designed and implemented with the
maximum health, recovery and performance aspects for student-athletes
taken into consideration.
This position must work
within
Langston
Athletics,
the
NAIA
guidelines
to
provide
student-athletes
with
an
exceptional collegiate experience while competing for championships.
JOB
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads
all
aspects
of
a
competitive
NAIA
Strength
&
Conditioning
Program
Design strength/conditioning/nutrition programs for individual student-athletes and teams.
Teach fundamental/certified best practices regarding strength/conditioning/nutrition programs for individual student-athletes and teams with a focus on injury prevention and enhanced performance.
Work with coaches to schedule and implement strength/conditioning/nutrition programs for individual student-athletes and teams, organizing schedules across multiple sports and seasons at once.
Monitor the completion of strength/conditioning/nutrition programs for individual student-athletes and teams.
Continue ongoing strength/conditioning/nutrition education backed by data to support techniques and practices.
Help maintain Langston Athletics Weight room facilities in the W.E. Anderson stadium, including making update/upgrade recommendations to align with new strength & conditioning techniques and data.
This position could also be counted upon to assist in Game Day operations when needed.
Be an example and create opportunities for student-athletes to grow and develop spiritually, ensuring consistent movement towards Langston Athletics mission and strategic plan.

with
the
coordination of
program

Assists
with
facilitating
charitable
giving
by
donors
and
fundraising
events.
Adheres
to
all
National
Association
of
Intercollegiate
Athletics
(NAIA),
Sooner
Athletic Conference (SAC), and Langston Athletics rules and regulations.
•
Responsible
for
managing
the
program in
adherence
to
all
budgetary
guidelines, as
well as Langston
Athletics, Sooner
Athletics Conference (SAC), and NAIA rules and
regulations.
•
Attend
mandatory
compliance
and
departmental
meetings
as
scheduled.

Education & Experience
JOB FACTORS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Highly organized and skilled in problem-solving and conflict resolution.
Experience in the strength & conditioning field with appropriate certifications.
3- years of experience
Strong analytical and communication skills are an essential element of the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Must be certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association
(CSCS certification), the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCCA certification), or National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)
Certified in First Aid/CPR/ AED
Supervision Received:
Reports to the Director of Athletics and Associate Director of Athletics.
