Position Summary Information
To establish, recruit, retain, develop, train, mentor and coach Lewis University STUNT. The Head Coach will be responsible for the safety of students involved in STUNT at practices and games. We are excited to introduce this emerging sport to the Lewis University Community! The Head Coach will be responsible for upholding Lewis University Mission, USA Cheer Guidelines, Great Lakes Valley Conference and NCAA Division II philosophies, standards and policies. This role is a part time position for the 23-24 school year, while recruiting athletes. For the 24-25 inaugural season, the Head Coach role will then be moved to a full-time position which reports to the Spirit Coordinator.
Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University’s Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education. Recruit and retain student-athletes in accordance with USA CHEER, NCAA DII, GLVC and institutional rules, standards, guidelines and regulations Actively develop and implement effective recruitment plan (strong athletic and academic students) Manage strength and conditioning, practices and competitions Attend USA Cheer/STUNT College Combines Provide guidance and mentor student-athletes Understand and support team members personal and academic struggles and successes Create a supportive, positive team environment Supervise STUNT Assistant Coach(es) Assist Spirit Coordinator with fundraising Exhibit great sportsmanship, integrity and professionalism at all times Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes to represent Lewis University and the Spirit Program
-Bachelor Degree Required-Prior experience in coaching tumbling-Minimum of 3 years competing or participating in Cheer/STUNT-USA Cheer STUNT Coach Membership-CPR/First Aid Certification
-Prior collegiate level Cheer/STUNT coaching experience (3-5 years)-Master’s degree
Part-time first year; in subsequent years would become FT
