This position directly supports our Athletics department by being the one responsible for all aspects of Lycoming College’s NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Program. This includes largely recruitment of student-athletes, conducting and supervising practices, as well as competitions and supervising a team of Assistant Coaches.

What will I do in this role?
Coaching:
- Organizing and conducting practices, conditioning programs and competitive events while instructing student-athletes with sound principles and expert skills related to basketball.
- Creating an annual schedule that includes a balance of home and away contests.
- Managing an operating budget.
- Participating in fundraising through the Warrior Club program and fundraising accounts.
- Knowing and abiding by NCAA Division III regulations and Landmark Conference rules.
- Maintaining current roster and working collaboratively with Director of Athletics, and Athletic Trainer.
Recruiting:
- Recruit student-athletes who meet the College’s admissions requirements and possess the potential to contribute to the team and add positively to the student body.
- Represent the College at admission open houses and other events for prospective students.
- Monitoring the academic success of student-athletes and collaborating regularly with the faculty and academic success team.
What are we looking for?
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of at least 3 years coaching experience.
Knowledge and Skill Set
- Must have well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Be able to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Demonstrated ability with management skills to supervise student assistants.
- Ability to maintain CPR/First Aid Certification
- Pass the Open Books test for NCAA Division III regulations.
- Successful completion of ACT 153 Clearances and Motor Vehicle Record check with an active driver’s license.
