Lawrence University is on the hunt for a visionary and energetic Head Coach to take the helm of our Women’s Hockey program. Heading into our fifth season of competition, our team has made tremendous progress, achieving notable milestones and demonstrating remarkable growth. This season, we are poised for a strong performance, and we seek an exceptional leader to continue driving our program forward. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in elevating our team’s competitive edge, expanding its recognition, and raising expectations across the board.
Located in the vibrant city of Appleton, Wisconsin, Lawrence University is a nationally acclaimed private institution renowned for its distinctive blend of liberal arts, sciences, and a prestigious conservatory of music. As a proud member of the Midwest Conference, Northern Collegiate Hockey Association, Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference, and the Midwest Fencing Conference, Lawrence is home to 24 intercollegiate sports teams and approximately 365 dedicated scholar-athletes. Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Vision and Leadership: Craft and execute a bold plan that transforms our women’s ice hockey program into a powerhouse. Develop innovative training regimens, cutting-edge game strategies, and a winning team culture that sets us apart in the
NCHA
.
Elite Recruiting: Identify and attract top-tier student-athletes who are not only outstanding hockey players but also excel academically. Your recruiting prowess will be instrumental in bringing talented individuals who embody the spirit and values of Lawrence University.
Program Administration: Take charge of the program’s day-to-day operations with a strategic eye. Manage scheduling, budget, and compliance with
NCAA
and
NCHA
regulations. Ensure that every operational detail contributes to our overarching goals.
Player Development: Mentor and guide our student-athletes to excel both on the ice and in the classroom. Your leadership will empower them to balance rigorous academic commitments with competitive athletic performance, fostering their growth into well-rounded individuals.
Departmental Synergy: Collaborate with the athletics department to leverage the current momentum and growth opportunities. Your vision will align with our broader goals, driving the program towards unprecedented success and a prominent place in the
NCAA
landscape.
Continuous Improvement: Stay ahead of the curve by embracing new coaching techniques and player development strategies. Regularly evaluate the program’s progress and implement innovative solutions to enhance performance and competitive edge.

Qualifications:
Proven track record or demonstrated potential in coaching with a focus on elevating team performance and achieving competitive success.
Strong experience in recruiting top talent and building a cohesive team culture that aligns with a demanding academic environment.
Exceptional management skills, including budget oversight and administrative capabilities, with a knack for turning challenges into opportunities.
A collaborative spirit with the ability to inspire and lead within a dynamic and growth-oriented athletics department.
Minimum Requirements
• 5-7 years of successful coaching experience
• Ability to recruit qualified women’s ice hockey student-athletes
• Bachelor’s degree required
