North Carolina Wesleyan University, a DIII liberal arts university located in Rocky Mount, NC, invites applications for the position of Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach. This is a full-time, ten-month position. Responsibilities include but are not limited to player development, recruiting, NCAA and USA South rules and regulations, compliance, administrative duties, overseeing the daily operations of the program which include, administration, direction, supervision and leadership of NCAA Division III varsity women’s team.

Supervise assistant coach(es) and other auxiliary personnel.
Counsel and advise team members.
Engage in public relations activities and promote your sport in the local community.

Contract and pay all officials through administrative assistant and Director of Athletics.
Provide SID office with all publicity material related to your sport.
Provide academic supervisor and Director of Athletics with all academic information on your team members as requested.
Conduct your program within the philosophy of intercollegiate athletics at NC Wesleyan as stated in the department manual.
Self-report any possible NCAA rules violation.
Participate in annual continuing education programs regarding NCAA rules as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Realize that factors such as observance of NCAA rules, academic performance and health and safety of your student-athletes.
Miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
The recruitment of student athletes is central to program success. Each year specific recruitment goals will be determined in cooperation with the athletic director to assure that sufficient players are recruited to fill the team roster.
Academic oversight and monitoring of the academic performance for each student athlete is an important aspect of helping students to progress toward degree completion. Activities to support retention are an important part of position responsibilities. A yearly summary report will be made to the athletic director documenting retention initiatives and the retention data of the players.
Required qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, a minimum of two years of coaching or playing experience at the college level, ability to recruit and evaluate talent, strong organizational and public relations skills. Other duties as assigned by Director of Athletics.
