What will I do in this role?
Coaching (60%): - Organize and conduct practices, conditioning programs and competitive events. Instruct student-athletes with sound principles and expert skills related to lacrosse, prepare individual athletes and team for competitions, set season goals and motivate students using techniques that meet the needs of the students and that are consistent with the Lycoming College athletic program philosophy. - Developing a competitive program in Women’s Lacrosse. Competitiveness may be demonstrated by continual improvement in conference standings, qualifying for individual or team playoffs as conference or NCAA level, conference awards for players and/or coaches, etc. The goal is to foster an environment of continuous improvement at the team and individual level. - With the approval of the Director of Athletics, create an annual schedule that includes a balance of home and away competitions; schools that are competitive from an athletic perspective; schools that reflect the same academic values as Lycoming College; and schools that include institutions within Lycoming College’s key admission recruiting areas.
Knowledge and Skill Set - Must have well-developed interpersonal skills. - Be able to work independently with minimal oversight. - Demonstrated ability with management skills to supervise student assistants. - Ability to maintain CPR/First Aid Certification - Pass the Open Books test for NCAA Division III regulations. - Successful completion of ACT 153 Clearances and Motor Vehicle Record check with an active driver’s license.
