Apply NowRhodes College seeks a Head Women's Soccer Coach reporting to the Director of Athletics. The coach should build a sense of community and enthusiasm around the program by engaging the student body, alumni, parents, and fans. Strong relational skills with internal and external constituents are critical. This position coordinates all phases of the college's women’s intercollegiate soccer program. This position requires flexibility to travel and work weekends and evenings when necessary. This is a full-time 12-month position.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop teams which are competitive within the conference, region and nationally by maximizing the student-athletes talents while also teaching and promoting teamwork while supporting the educational goals of individual student-athletes by demonstrating a coaching philosophy which encourages those goals and promoting an environment conducive to both.
Inventory, manage and update equipment and assist with management of all game and practice facilities utilized by the team and department.
Select, supervise, evaluate and guide the professional development of assistant coach staff.
Manage operational budget while demonstrating fiscal responsibility and support of cost containment initiatives while overseeing the purchase of inventory, uniforms, equipment, facilities maintenance/upgrade and travel.
Establish a competitive schedule, coordinate team travel and maintain compliance with college guidelines pertaining to class hours missed.
Evaluate and compare athletic talent for potential growth and development of student-athletes while maintaining correspondence with prospects through phone, email and in-person visits.
Collaborate with College and athletic units, including admissions, financial aid, medical services, academic support, judicial affairs, compliance and development.
Supervise student athletes in the varsity weight room.
Complete all credit card reconciliations, email correspondence and returning of phone calls in a timely manner, meeting deadlines as directed.
Regular attendance is an essential function to perform the duties of this position.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree
NSCAA/USSFCertified (preferred)
This position requires a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and must be insurable by the College’s insurance carrier.
Must have soccer coaching experience at either the high school or college level.
Must have strong organizational, supervisory, and programming skills.
Must communicate effectively with all types of people, and establish and maintain a strong working relationship with students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and other college personnel.
Must have the ability to work responsibly with minimal supervision.
Must have knowledge ofNCAArules and regulations.
Physical Demands:
Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Involves both inside sedentary work and work on different fields and on other fitness environments while coaching and training situations with student-athletes.
Lifting required (i.e., set-up of scorers’ table, etc.), some manual labor is expected.
Evening and weekend hours in all types of weather, with travel is necessary.
