Description: The Head Women's Soccer Coach is responsible for coordinating, directing, and administering all facets of the women's soccer program. The HC will be a strong Christian leader eager to integrate their faith into a highly competitive soccer program.
Responsibilities: Primary Responsibilities: Supervise all activities related to the women’s soccer program: • Recruit student/athletes that meet King University Admission guidelines: o Build relationships with high school programs and clubs, especially local ones. o Target successful coaches and teams. o Orchestrate recruiting days, in conjunction with Admissions and Compliance. o Prepare recruitment materials, including but not limited to letters, questionnaires, etc. Provide Christian leadership, academic, personal, and professional mentoring to student-athletes: • Integrate Christian faith into your leadership to provide spiritual growth opportunities for our players. • Support and model to student-athletes the NCAA’s Life in the Balance initiative. • Monitor the academic progress of team members in keeping with the standards of King University, the NCAA, and Conference Carolinas. • Teach character through this platform: sportsmanship, integrity, respect, honor, etc. • Athletic conditioning and training as required to compete safely at a high level. Establish the team’s competition and practice schedules, according to the NCAA guidelines. • Scheduling of opponents. • Athletic conditioning and training as required, including, but not limited to implementing off-season conditioning and fitness programs. • Oversee details for home matches, including, but not limited to: o Facility set-up, preparation, and clean up, including locker room access. o Contact and hire officials for all home matches. • Prepare and oversee all travel arrangements including but not limited to: o Supervision of the team. o Transportation – If using university vehicles, the procurement and return of all credit cards, van keys, and vehicles with the interior of all vehicles cleaned out. o Lodging. o Meals. Oversee all administrative functions of the Women’s Soccer Team, including but not limited to: • Comply with all NCAA and Conference Carolinas rules and regulations. • Attend clinics and or meetings for continuing education or as required by the NCAA and Conference Carolinas. • Budget Management, oversight and accountability for all expenditures. o Procure and manage inventory of uniforms, equipment, supplies, etc. o Prepare pcard requests and purchase orders as needed. Hire, train and supervise Assistant Coaches and student staff, including but not limited to Manager(s): • Create opportunities for advancement in the field of intercollegiate athletics. • Provide valuable skills and experience. Develop summer camps Work closely with Admissions, Financial Aid, and Student Affairs to assist in the recruitment, packaging, and onboarding of new and returning students. General Responsibilities: Compliance with any outside authority and local, state, and federal laws including, but not limited to accrediting agencies, external auditing, first responders, OSHA, TN OSHA, EPA, Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, Clery Act, etc., and do any audit work required for these agencies in a timely fashion. Follow the policies as set forth in the appropriate employee handbook and subsequent updates or changes including, but not limited to, travel, professional development, purchasing and reimbursements, etc. Professional Development and Compliance • Participate in professional organizations and professional development as time and resources permit and as directed by the supervisor. • Seek out organizations that might provide insight and a networking resource for continued professional development. Other occasional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
