DESCRIPTION OF JOB:

The Head Women’s Soccer Coach is responsible for leading all aspects of the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer program, including the recruitment and retention of qualified student-athletes, coaching, student-athlete development, budget management, alumni and community engagement, and compliance with NCAA, Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC), and institutional policies. The Head Coach is expected to foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture that supports the mission of Edgewood University Athletics while emphasizing academic achievement, personal growth, leadership, and competitive excellence.

Athletics plays an important role in the life of the University, including enhancing the learning experience for student-athletes, creating opportunities to unite the campus community, publicly demonstrating the University’s values and mission, and contributing to the achievement of institutional goals. The position is responsible for short- and long-term program planning that supports the University’s Mission and Vision and strictly adheres to NCAA, NACC, and institutional rules and regulations.

Responsibilities:

Program Leadership and Student-Athlete Development

  • Lead all aspects of the Women’s Soccer program in a manner consistent with the mission and values of Edgewood University and Edgewood University Athletics.
  • Develop a team culture centered on accountability, respect, teamwork, communication, and competitive excellence.
  • Plan, organize, and conduct productive practice sessions, team meetings, conditioning sessions, and competitions.
  • Teach technical, tactical, physical, and mental aspects of soccer that foster individual and team growth.
  • Prepare student-athletes for high levels of NCAA Division III and NACC competition.
  • Support the academic, personal, leadership, and career development of each student-athlete.
  • Model and foster appropriate sportsmanship, competitiveness, humility, and professionalism.
