Coordinating technical, tactical, and fitness/conditioning training sessions
Promoting holistic mental and physical well-being of student-athletes
Supervising coaching staff
Engaging in the planning and coordination of student-athlete development initiatives including academic progress monitoring, study halls, leadership development program, etc.
Assuring program is in compliance with all Departmental, University, and NCAA rules, regulations, and policies
Participating in oversight of equipment distribution and return
Developing and implementing fundraising initiatives at program level and assisting with fundraising at the department and University level
Engaging in alumni relations activities
Attending all department, University, Conference, Professional Association and NCAA meetings and trainings as mandated by the University and the Athletic Director
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred in Athletic Coaching, Physical Education, Recreation, or associated fields.
A minimum of 3 years university coaching experience requested.
CPR, First Aid and AED, certification and successful completion of mandated University training (Bystander Intervention, Title IX, Active Shooter, e.g.) is also required.
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations including Title IX
Excellent leadership and supervisory skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated coaching ability – may include appropriate coaching licensure or certification
Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a team
The ability to articulate the vision, mission and core values of Division III Athletics and athletics at Western New England University
Ability to work collaboratively with athletic department and building staff members as well as with members/staff of other groups/divisions on Campus
