The University of Sioux Falls, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, invites applications for a full-time Head Women’s Swimming Coach in a competitive swimming program. USF is a member of the NCAA Division II and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
The position is a full-time, exempt, 12-month commitment and reports to the Director of
Intercollegiate Athletics. The applicant must demonstrate exemplary leadership, recruiting, and coaching skills, and thorough knowledge and adherence to compliance with all NCAA applicable procedures, rules, and regulations.
The person in this position is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and all aspects of developing and running a competitive women’s swimming program, including but not limited to identifying and recruiting successful student-athletes, skill development, scouting, monitoring student-athlete academic progress, game preparation and practice. The selected candidate will also assist in organizing fundraising opportunities and swimming camps. The applicant must demonstrate leadership, recruiting and coaching skills, and knowledge of and adherence to compliance with all NCAA applicable procedures, rules, and regulations. The successful applicant will have demonstrated swimming and/or diving, playing, and/or college coaching experience.
Applicants must demonstrate a strong professional work ethic and an unwavering commitment to the academic success of students. The successful applicant must also possess significant knowledge of and demonstrate success in coaching swimming, recruiting student-athletes (domestically and internationally), and strong motivation, organizational, and communication skills. The individual must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in the environment of a Christian higher education institution, abide by all NCAA DII, Northern Sun Conference, and University policies, and have a commitment to the academic success of student-athletes.
The position requires a minimum of 3-5 years of collegiate coaching experience. A bachelor’s degree is required with a master’s preferred; college coaching experience or a combination of completing as a collegiate athlete and coaching experience is considered. Travel is necessary with a valid driver’s license, the ability to successfully pass a background check, possess a valid driver’s license, and lift up to 25 lbs. is required.
