The Head Women's Tennis Coach reports to the Associate Director of Athletics. The primary responsibility of this position is to instruct student-athletes in their respective sport while aligning with the university’s academic mission. This position is classified as exempt under FLSA regulations.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree with three years of coaching experience required. Master’s Degree and coaching experience at the college level preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Deep understanding of and passion for the game and substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the sport; Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to build strong collaborative relationships. Requires ability to multi-task and attend to detail. Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work with current students and parents, prospective students and parents, and staff and faculty in a professional manner. Ability to use technology and equipment specific to the sport. Ability to organize and supervise the sports program.
Additional Requirements
This position requires a valid driver’s license, the ability to drive and qualify under the university’s insurance carrier when driving a university and/or leased vehicle. CPR, AED and First Aid certification is preferred. This role is identified as one that includes significant interaction with students and/or campus activities, and/or has oversight for disciplinary procedures. Therefore, you are considered a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and required to report any Clery Act crime disclosed to you and remain compliant with annual CSA training requirements.
Physical Demand
Must have the energy and enthusiasm and mobility to actively coach the sport. Position requires frequent running, walking, stooping, and bending, crouching and physical activity. Position may also require the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time. Position requires the ability to move about the campus. Position requires the ability to talk and to hear instruction ability to frequently convey detailed or important instructions and ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly. Position requires lifting, pulling, pushing: Exert up to 50 pounds for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires travel. Work is indoors and outdoors.
