SUMMARY/SCOPE: Hardin-Simmons University is looking for UNPAID/VOLUNTEER Strength and Conditioning Interns. Interns will have the privilege to obtain practical experience as well as strength and conditioning education provided by the Hardin Simmons University strength and conditioning staff. Opportunities are given to partake in a multitude of “on-the-floor” coaching duties as well as implementation of programming strategies ranging from but not limited too; Resistance Training, Speed and Agility, Injury Prevention, Olympic Lifting, Nutrition, and Recovery. The knowledge and hours obtained during the HSU internship experience will provide the intern the ability to acquire future strength and conditioning certifications such as USAW, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), or other nationally accredited certs as well. The design of this program is to provide the intern with an elite level strength and conditioning experience that will lead the way for future development.

Interest in pursuing a career in strength and conditioning
Communication Skills
Be able to handle a demanding work schedule
Responsibilities:
Assisting with training sessions
Weekly professional development assignments
Facility maintenance
Other tasks assigned by the S&C staff
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Preferred Qualifications:
CSCS/CSCCA
USAW Level 1
First Aid/CPR
Previous coaching experience
Currently enrolled in an Undergraduate Exercise Science related field of study
Experience with Excel and PowerPoint
