Essential Duties

• Develop and implement comprehensive framework for inclusive excellence that aligns with SDA’s values and goals.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to assess current Inclusive Excellence practices and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with ASU Cultural Connections to design a communication that can be shared to promote a more inclusive environment throughout all of SDA.
• Research and curate educational resources and materials related to inclusive excellence.
• Develop annual educational calendar featuring workshops, seminars, and training sessions on key foundational inclusive excellence topics to foster more representative leadership.
• Identify logistical and speaker needs for educational topics, events, include recommended scheduling, gathering content and contact information for programming.
• Create an opportunity to collaborate with coaches and student-athletes to integrate inclusive excellence principles into their specific sport programs.
• Develop monthly topics focusing on inclusive excellence, such as teamwork, respect, and ally ship.
• Create discussion boards via Game Plan on line modules to be used in discussions, workshops, training sessions to enhance understanding of and awareness of Inclusive Excellence issues among coaches, staff and student-athletes.
• Curate collaborative content with SDA HR and ASU Office of Cultural Connections to be used in a shared regular on-line newsletter highlighting Inclusive Excellence initiatives, events and resources.
• Create a vehicle to solicit input from coaches, staff and student-athletes to showcase diverse perspectives and experiences.
  • Identify community stakeholders.
  • Determine best mechanism to distribute newsletter to key stakeholder so it is sustainable and scalable.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field; OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications

• Evidence of a Master’s degree in Sports Law and Business
• Demonstrated knowledge with ASU, NCAA DEI and Title IX regulations.
• At least 6 months of DEI work in a Division I athletics environment.
• Experience in employment or academic with DEI initiatives as it relates to Sun Devil Athletics and NCAA.
• Experience in research and curate educational resources and materials related to inclusive excellence.
• Experience in research, report writing and large data analysis.

Working Environment

• Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled facility and/or outdoors in extreme weather conditions and are subject to extended periods of standing and walking moderate distances to perform work.
• The office environment may include sitting for long periods of time.
• Use of a multi-line phone system, computer, and general office equipment.
• Must be able to work a minimum of ten hours a week and no more than an average of 20 hours per week.
• Position is expected to end no later than August 22, 2024.
