WORK-STUDY PROGRAM - Work Study is a part time job on campus. The amount is not deducted from your tuition bill, but is paid to you biweekly throughout the year as you earn it. Qualifications:
Apply NowCandidate must be dependable, cooperative, friendly, courteous, and able to follow directions. Departments are seeking a self-motivated, multi-tasking, well organized, and professional student employee who possesses good verbal and written communication skills. May work up to 10 hours per week during the active fall and spring semesters, and may work up to 29 hours per week during the summer breaks.
Responsibilities:
The tasks and duties will vary depending on the job placement.
Administrative/Office Assistant- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to entering data into a computer, filing records, sending and receiving faxes, answering telephone calls, and relaying messages, grading papers, inputting grades, processing records.
Athletic Aid -Responsibilities include, but are not limited to Game day setup, event working (athletic banquet, ball games, etc), prepare for practice, home and away games. Provides assistance to staff as needed excluding if the majority of duties is of Administrative/Office Assistant nature.
Lab Assistant -Lab Assistants or technicians can be of a technical or scientific background. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to monitor computer lab, maintain lab equipment, set labs, assist students, prepares chemical materials. Assist in performing assigned laboratory tasks without constant supervision. Provides assistance to staff as needed excluding if the majority of duties is of Administrative/Office Assistant nature.
Library Assistant -Responsibilities include, but are not limited to using the Library of Congress and Dewey decimal classification system, check shelves for current journals out or order, pickup newspapers from cataloging department assist patrons with questions and provide assistance to Library staff as needed. Provides assistance to staff as needed excluding if the majority of duties were of Administrative/Office Assistant nature.
Marketing Assistant -Responsibilities include, but are not limited to assisting the Marketing and Communications staff with advertising, publications, social media assignments, event planning, publicity, video and audio review and edits. Provides assistance to staff as needed excluding if the majority of duties is of Administrative/Office Assistant nature.
Mail Services Assistant -Responsibilities include, but are not limited to using stamp machine to process mail, distributes student mail and packages. Provides assistance to staff as needed excluding if the majority of duties is of Administrative/Office Assistant nature.
Undergraduate & Graduate Research Assistant -Responsibilities include, but are not limited to doing research on an assigned topic, and providing analysis and reporting. Provides assistance to staff as needed excluding if the majority of duties is of Administrative/Office Assistant nature.
Student Tutor/Mentor- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to providing assistance to students and perform activities such as helping them improve academic achievement, discussing class material and test questions, offering information about learning strategies, and fostering a positive learning environment. Providing peer to peer guidance to students and/or serve as student leader.
Technology** Services ***Assistant* -Responsibilities include, but are not limited to assisting to students, staff, and faculty by phone, email, and in person with their technology questions and problems, hardware and software support, and installation and configuration of equipment. Provides assistance to staff as needed excluding if the majority of duties is of Administrative/Office Assistant nature.
