The Director of Marketing will report to the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and works closely with the external relations group. The University of California, Irvine supports 18 Division-I intercollegiate athletic programs. Under the general direction of the Assistant Athletic Director, Marketing, the Director of Marketing will serve as the day-to-day lead for marketing and promotional activities. This position will be involved in all aspects of marketing, including: planning; advertising; promotion; public relations; program and product development; distribution; and research to meet the department’s goals and objectives.
The Director of Marketing will serve as the lead for assigned ticketed sports – developing sport specific ticketing, marketing, and sales plans. Position will assist in building fan game day experience in coordination with fan experience and tickets sales & service staff. For non-ticketed sports, the Director of Marketing will develop sport specific marketing and communication plans to engage the fan base. This position will also lead cross-sport promotional programs and marketing communication timelines. The Director of Marketing will build and execute sport specific email marketing campaigns and deliveries to drive fan attendance, ticket sales, and fan affinity.
The Director of Marketing will develop and grow campus partnerships with an emphasis on reaching the student population as well as overseeing the UC Irvine Athletics student spirit group. Develop a comprehensive student plan to on-board new students and drive attendance to our sporting events. This position will also oversee all aspects of the Jr. Anteater Kids Club. The Director of Marketing serves as the marketing internship coordinator overseeing recruitment, on-boarding, training and scheduling of our student intern staff.
