Position Summary

10-month Internship with Sports Information

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

(1) Assist in the publicity of the University’s intercollegiate sports for men and women, serving as specific media contact for select teams.
(2) Travel with select teams, or serve as press box host at home events as assigned and keep statistics and scorebooks.

(3) Edit media guides and write game notes for specific team sports.

(4) Write feature stories for UDM publications as well as hometown newspapers.

(5) Assist in maintenance of the Athletic Department web site, DetroitTitans.com.
(6) Coordinate team photo sessions as assigned.

(7) Perform other sports information duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalant combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must be able to travel extensively. Must be able to drive a 15 passenger van. Must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends during the academic year. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of NCAA rules & regulations including Horizon League and University Policies.

Licenses/Certifications

Must have valid Driver’s License.
