Job Summary:
Drake University's Athletics Department is searching for a new colleague to coordinate efforts in Athletics ticket operations, ticket sales, and development.
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Associate Athletics Director, and receiving day-to-day direction and guidance from the Director of Ticket Operations and the Director of the Bulldog Club and Ticket Sales, the Assistant Director of Ticket Operations and Revenue Generation will assist in all ticketing operations, ticket sales, and development activities for the Department of Athletics including the Drake Relays.
The Assistant Director will assist with all Ticket Office day-to-day operations, ticketing game management, and ticketing operations at home athletics events.
The Assistant Director assists in the development and implementation of plans to increase the revenues generated by the intercollegiate athletics program through fundraising, donations, and ticket sales. The Assistant Director assists with events related to the promotion of athletics and the development and implementation of fundraising activities for intercollegiate athletics.
The Assistant Director will initiate group sales, cultivate relationships for season ticket sales, and work with marketing on promotional planning. The new staff member will also attend university, community, and networking events to increase and drive sales, create goodwill, and help promote the university and athletics department. This position also has responsibility for ticketing execution for home athletics events.
This position involves substantial daily interaction with donors in person, via telephone, and through email correspondence. This position will identify, cultivate, and solicit annual gifts from individuals and corporations; and provide support and oversight of fundraising activities. This position will manage a portfolio of donors for cultivation and renewal on an annual basis.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated examples of exemplary customer service, integrity, and the ability to develop relationships with ticket holders, donors, and fans. This position is eligible for a customized work arrangement including periods of remote work in coordination with area manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Effective communication skills and ability to interact with a wide variety of constituents
• Demonstrated history of strong interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills, customer service mindset
• Desire and ability to successfully work as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
• 1-3 years of ticket operations experience
• Experience in athletics and/or higher education
Job Duties:
50% - Assist Ticket Office operations, which will include but not be limited to, customer service, ticket processing, billing and collection from ticketholders and donors, database management, processing of daily deposits and ticket reporting. Assist in supervision of student-workers to ensure consistent and professional customer service is being provided. - (Essential)
25% - Assist with ticketing game management and ticketing operations at home athletics events. - (Essential)
10% - Initiate ticket sales campaigns via telephone, email, social media, and in-person to create ongoing networking opportunities, cultivate relationships for new season tickets, group ticket sales, single-game ticket sales, donations, and business development. Solicitation and renewal of current season ticket holders. Works collaboratively with coaches, marketing, and development to manage, develop and implement sport-specific promotional plans. Represent Drake Athletics at university, community, and networking events to increase and drive sales, create goodwill and help promote the university and Athletics department. - (Essential)
10% - Identify, cultivate, and solicit annual gifts from individuals and corporations; provide support and oversight of fundraising activities and other duties as assigned for the benefit of Drake Athletics. Serve as a steward for designated portfolio of donors to engage and seek renewals/upgrades. Daily interaction with donors (in person, phone, and email). Meet annual goals of attracting an increasing number of members and gift dollars to the Bulldog Club and Drake Athletics funds. - (Essential)
5% - Ensure the confidentiality of all documents and data maintained in the Ticket Office through policies, procedures, and accounting standards. Ensure compliance with all policies, rules, and regulations of Drake University, NCAA, and Missouri Valley conference. Perform other duties, as assigned. - (Essential)
