Oversees the comprehensive development of student-athletes.
Develops and implements a coaching philosophy aligned with the universities and the Athletics department’s mission.
Develops and manages functional team training sessions.
Creates and executes individualized training sessions tailored to the specific needs of each player.
Conducts player meetings to review individual performance, offer constructive feedback, and set goals for improvement.
Analyzes and breaks down game video performance.
Identifies and recruits academically and athletically qualified student-athletes.
Creates a recruitment strategy that aligns with university admissions and athletic department policies.
Oversees and conducts official visits for prospective student-athletes.
Attends national and international events to evaluate and establish contact with potential student-athletes and represent the University.
Supervises and mentors assistant coaches, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
Develops, organizes, and manages a comprehensive team schedule and calendar.
Oversees team budgets and expenses for team travel, supplies/equipment, and scholarships.
Coordinates travel arrangements for the team, overseeing practice times for road games and ensuring adherence to scheduling guidelines.
Maintains equipment inventory, following NSU procedures for ordering supplies and managing athletic program funds.
Collaborates with the sports oversite/administrator to establish long and short-term team objectives.
Collaborates with sports medicine and strength and conditioning staff to optimize player health and performance.
Develops and implements a comprehensive scouting system for upcoming opponents.
Maintains open and regular communication with the Associate AD for Academics and Student Development.
Monitors and mentor’s student-athletes’ academic progress.
Enforces an academic study hall for student-athletes throughout the season.
Completes special projects as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Fosters effective communication and collaboration with various campus offices, departments, and faculty to ensure comprehensive support for student-athletes.
Serves as a distinguished guest speaker at public events on behalf of NSU Athletics.
Leads and promotes community service activities.
Promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion within the soccer program and the university community.
Knowledge:
Administration and Management - Knowledge of management principles involved in strategic planning, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources.
English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language.
NCAA Rules and Regulations – Strong working knowledge and understanding of all NCAA rules and regulations regarding compliance issues.
Sport Experience – Extensive knowledge of individual and team skills with the ability to teach these skills.

Budget Management – Must be able to work within the budget given by the athletic department.

Deductive Reasoning - The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.

Bachelor's Degree
Health, Leisure and Exercise Science, Physical Exercise, Sports management, or a closely related field.
Two (2) years of coaching experience at high school, College, or professional level.
