Texas A&M University's Technology Services is actively seeking an IT Manager I for Athletics to lead our Help Desk and Event Technician teams onsite in College Station, Texas!
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of our IT support services, providing top-notch technical assistance to our staff and stakeholders. You will oversee the daily activities of the Help Desk, ensuring timely and effective resolution of technical issues, while also managing the Event Technician team to deliver flawless technical support for our athletic events.
As the IT Manager I of the Athletics’ Help Desk, you will be tasked with monitoring performance metrics, conducting regular team meetings, and providing ongoing training and development. You will also handle escalations, ensuring that complex issues are resolved efficiently. Additionally, you will support Texas A&M University’s Athletics by providing IT support during football games and participating in a rotation for other athletic events. Your presence at these events will ensure all technical events run smoothly, contributing to the success of TAMU Athletics.
Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll do:
Oversee daily operations of the Help Desk and Event Technician team
Plan and execute IT Projects
Handle escalation and resolve complete technical issues
Maintain awareness of and support the initiatives of the Athletics Department.
Providing timely updates to customers regarding ongoing issues.
Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment
Schedule: This role will be required to attend Texas A&M Athletics Events, which can occur on nights and weekends. As the IT Manager, you will attend Texas A&M Football games to provide IT Support and participate in the rotation of all other athletic events. This position is expected to be onsite in College Station, Texas.
Salary: $60,000 - $65,000 annually.
Qualifications
A well-qualified candidate would possess one or more of the following:
Knowledge of basic project and operations management including decision making, scheduling, prioritizing, quality assurance, delegating, monitoring work tasks, reporting, negotiating, advanced customer relations skills, business acumen, persuasive communication, and adaptability to change
Knowledge of team leadership skills including motivating team and group processes, team collaboration, empowering, coaching, mentoring, training, ethical integrity, championing, and supervising staff.
