Summary
The lead assistant women’s basketball coach will assist the head coach with all aspects of the program, including recruiting, practice and game planning, coaching, individual skill development, and administrative tasks. Biola University is a Christian institution that aligns with the Protestant tradition and is theologically conservative. Duties and Responsibilities

Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the sport and a strong understanding of issues surrounding student-athlete development in that sport.
Emphasize the athletic development of all student-athletes within the program through constructive feedback and effective communication.
Work with the head coach to organize and conduct efficient and effective practice sessions.
Provide proper scouting, planning, and execution of a game plan during competition.
Recruiting
Work closely with the Admissions Department to recruit all prospective student-athletes (PSAs).
Ensure all recruiting activities are reported accurately in the compliance software.
Know and follow all NCAA Division II legislation for recruiting visits, tryouts, PSA evaluations, communication with PSAs, and recruiting periods.
Target recruitment efforts to result in effective signings of PSAs who are institutionally compatible with the Christian faith, academic expectations, commitment to graduation, and enhancing the Biola identity.
Attend competitions off-campus to recruit PSAs, submitting all forms before off-campus recruiting, as directed by the head coach.
Manage and update the IRL and compliance recruiting profiles weekly.
Student-Athlete Development
Develop a Christian spiritual focus that promotes individual and team spiritual growth.
Support current student-athletes toward academic success and graduation.
Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes via various university systems.
Administrative
Accurately log CARA activity and submit it to the compliance office weekly before the deadline.
Monitor and oversee the study hall program.
Monitor student-athlete grades.
Responsible for the team calendar to meet all deadlines and keep the calendar up-to-date and accurate for all practices and competitions.
Assist with fundraising efforts throughout the year.
Work with the coaching staff to coordinate service projects for the team throughout the fall and spring and submit the appropriate approval forms via ARMS accurately and on time.
Manage the team's uniform and gear needs.
NCAA Compliance
Self-report any potential NCAA violations promptly.
Proficient use of Biola’s compliance software, including timely, accurate, and complete submission of all necessary forms, schedules, and other required submissions. Forms include but are not limited to recruiting, financial aid, NLIs, transcript evaluation, occasional meals, and aid renewal/non-renewal.
In consultation with the compliance office, educate and support team members and PSAs regarding the importance of compliance, eligibility requirements and status, employment regulation, NLI regulations, and initial eligibility (via the NCAA Eligibility Portal).
Facilitate the provision of all information necessary to determine a PSA’s initial eligibility through the NCAA Eligibility Center.
Annually pass the NCAA Coach’s Certification modules in the NCAA Learning Portal and ensure assistant coaches do the same before participating in CARA or off-campus recruiting.
Ensure adherence to all camp/clinic procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
