The primary purpose of this position is to provide day-to-day administrative leadership and support within the athletic department including student athlete development, business operations, compliance assistant, and sports information assistant. This is a two-year, 10-month per year internship funded by the NCAA Division III Pathway to Excellence Grant, awarded to institutions that are committed to enhancing underrepresented groups in intercollegiate athletics.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

40% Leadership Development

● Organize and facilitate leadership training programs for student-athletes and department staff fostering skills that promote a positive and effective culture and environment.

● Re-establish Pipers C.A.R.E. ( C - courage to stand; A - awareness of resources; R - responsible to act; E - excellence on and off the field) organization; serve as co-advisor with head athletic trainer. Purpose is to support well rounded student athletes through well-being, academic success, and personal development.

● Explore possibility of student-athletes training as Peer Educators on campus.
