The University of Wisconsin-Stout is seeking applications for a Leadership Giving Officer – Athletics to discover, cultivate, and develop relationships with donors to secure funding for UW-Stout Athletics and UW-Stout. The Leadership Giving Officer – Athletics will report to the Director of Development within the UW-Stout Foundation and Alumni Association and will work collaboratively with the UW-Stout Athletic Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Discover, engage, and maintain a portfolio of donors in the region, state, and country with an interest in supporting UW-Stout Athletics and UW-Stout.
Maintain active portfolios of donors and record all engagement, in a timely manner, in Raisers Edge.
Conceive, write, and edit written proposals and solicit prospects for leadership annual and major gifts that contribute to UW-Stout Athletics and UW-Stout priorities.
Coordinate and host donors at events (Chancellor’s Suite/Box, Johnson Fieldhouse Box, and other University events), under the supervision of the Director of Development, to enhance UW-Stout Athletics and UW-Stout; and provide alumni, donors, and friends a vehicle to build pride and brand awareness of UW-Stout Athletics and UW-Stout.
Conduct meetings with prospects to develop donor relationships.
Partner with Annual Giving and Advancement Operations to enhance the leadership annual giving pipeline by identifying current donors who would be a candidate for increase in giving.
Partner with Foundation & Alumni Association colleagues to identify #StoutProud and Impact stories to increase pride and knowledge of the impact of philanthropy at UW-Stout.
Work collaboratively with UW-Stout Athletics, including coaches and faculty, to foster an engaged community of supporters for UW-Stout Athletics and UW-Stout.
Travel will be expected, as needed, to meet with potential donors.
Develops and delivers targeted fundraising and communication programs and materials specific to gift contributions in alignment with strategic initiatives
Develops and updates prospect portfolios, evaluates existing strategy and recommends improvements to leadership
Serves as a unit liaison to internal and external constituencies, provides information and represents the interests of the institution
Identifies, promotes, and maintains donor relationships and identifies solicitation opportunities specifically designed for the generation of gifts to reach program funding goals
The UW-Stout Office of University Advancement is comprised of the UW-Stout Foundation and Alumni Association. The two units collaboratively strive to advance the mission of UW-Stout through building relationships with alumni, friends, and industry partners of the university. Under the direction of the UW-Stout Foundation Board of Directors, the UW-Stout Foundation is responsible for the acquisition and stewardship of philanthropic resources for UW-Stout.
Minimum starting salary of $60,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. A six-month probationary period is required
Minimum/ Required
• Bachelor's Degree
• Two or more years of sales, fundraising, and/or related work in relationship building
Highly Desired/Preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of or experience working in college athletics

Employment is contingent upon the final candidate’s completing a criminal background check and being cleared to work by the Human Resources Office. Employment is also contingent upon the final candidate passing reference checks and an essential job function test, as applicable.
