SUMMARY
Supports the learning needs of student-athletes identified as at-risk for academic difficulties, including the instruction of evidence-based learning strategies, general study skills support, and content-specific assistance. Administers diagnostic measures to assess academic preparedness and plans, develops and administers learning plans for individual students. Communicates with academic advisors, tutors, and other personnel to monitor and report on student progress. Coordinates tutorial needs for all student-athletes, including the hiring, training, and evaluation of tutor staff.
Responsibilities include:

Manage caseload ofManage caseload of student-athletes with diagnosed learning exceptionalities, etc…

Coordinate department pre-screening of all incoming student athletes for academic history and arrange follow up testing for indicated incoming student athletes.
·
Collaborate with advising staff to design and implement academic success plans for assigned student athletes, including academic class scheduling, tutoring, mentoring, and study skills programming.
·
As required, provide written reports to academic advisors, supervisor, and unit director regarding assigned caseload, pre-screening information summaries, recommended programming, and other miscellaneous information as needs arise.
·
Maintain confidential, professional environment for assigned student-athletes, including the maintenance and upkeep of confidential, detailed files on all assigned student athletes.
·
Assist in the development of programs aimed at improving retention and graduation rates, facilitate training for tutors, mentors, and advising staff regarding learning development and strategies, and identification of learning disabilities.

Coordinate, in conjunction with advising staff and tutorial coordinator, course and professor specific review sessions for targeted classes.

If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree or higherin education or a related field
·
Knowledge and understanding of NCAA Division I rules and procedures
·
Experience with assistive technology recommended for use by students with learning exceptionalities
·
Experience in a student-athlete advising environment
