Position Description
Will provide academic skill instruction to student athletes with learning disabilities and/or low skill levels. Will conduct one-on-one academic meetings with a caseload of students, teach learning strategies and address academic needs. Will prepare summary reports and updates for academic advisors and the Director of Enrichment Services. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of student athletes files. Will assist the Director of Enrichment Services, the Tutor Coordinator, the Mentor Coordinator, and the Enrichment Services Assistant in managing the daily operations of the Tutor and Mentor Programs. Will participate in the Academic Enrichment Center graduate assistant and intern program. Will represent the Athletics Department on various levels within the University Campus, athletics profession and the Columbia community. Must understand that rules compliance is a critical element of this position and adhere to NCAA, SEC, and University rules, regulations, and policies. Must contribute to the maintenance of good working relationships with other members of the department. Must participate in the Academic Enrichment Center Intern Program.Must be willing to perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required.Ability to work flexible hours.Experience working with a diverse population within education or related fields.
