ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The USF Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is an integral part of USF and its mission by sponsoring a diverse and nationally competitive Division I athletic program. The program serves several significant constituencies, including its student-athletes, who are students first. The most important priority of the program is the progress of the student-athletes toward graduation. Other priorities include the health, fitness and emotional development of student-athletes at USF.
Intercollegiate Athletics provide a sense of collegiality, allegiance, and pride for students, staff, faculty, alumni, boosters and the greater Tampa Bay community at large and serves as a focal point for their support. Within the framework of competitive excellence, Intercollegiate Athletics at USF are also a contact vehicle leading supporters to a greater awareness of the University's mission, academic programs and prominence as an educational institution.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager of NIL Operations will help lead the daily operations within the Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) department. This role involves performing various case studies on the NIL market, administering the departments calendar, creating and distributing monthly NIL bulletins, and serving as a liaison for NIL revenue-generating ventures to the Fowler Avenue Collective. The Manager will also have a comprehensive understanding of international laws and policies regarding NIL, including the visa process for post-graduate international students. Additionally, this position will support the development office and assist in organizing events throughout the year. The Manager will report directly to the NIL General Manager and handle any other duties as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily Operations
Lead the daily operations of the NIL department, ensuring all activities run smoothly and efficiently.
Perform various case studies on the NIL market to provide insights and recommendations for strategy development
Calendar Organization
Administer the daily, monthly, and yearly calendar for the NIL department, scheduling meetings, events, and deadlines.
Coordinate with coaches, staff, and student-athletes to ensure all NIL-related activities are properly scheduled and communicated
Monthly NIL Bulletins
Create and distribute monthly NIL bulletins to the athletic department, highlighting key updates, opportunities, and achievements
Liaison for NIL Ventures
Serve as a liaison from NIL revenue-generating ventures to the Fowler Avenue Collective, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration.
International NIL Policies
Possess a thorough understanding of international laws and policies related to NIL.
Understand the process for international students to secure NIL deals during their studies and post-graduation.
Provide guidance on the visa process and how to acquire necessary documentation for life after school, ideally through post-graduate international education.
Event Coordination:
Serve as an extension of the development office within the university, assisting in the planning and execution of various events throughout the year.
Manage event logistics, including venue selection, catering, invitations, and on-site coordination.
Support fundraising efforts by identifying potential donors and sponsors for NIL initiatives.
Facilitate the development and execution of fundraising campaigns and events.
Maintain relationships with donors and sponsors, providing updates on NIL activities and the impact of their contributions.
Education Distribution:
Develop and distribute educational materials related to NIL to coaches, staff, and studentathletes.
Organize workshops and training sessions to ensure all stakeholders are informed about
NIL regulations, opportunities, and best practices
Manage special projects related to NIL initiatives as assigned by the NIL General Manager.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to complete projects on time and within budget.
Provide regular updates on the progress and outcomes of special projects
Collect and process meal receipts related to NIL activities.
Ensure all meal receipts are accurately documented and submitted to the collective for
reimbursement.Maintain a detailed record of all meal-related expenses and reimbursements
Performs other duties as assigned
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Bachelors degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field and a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in operations management, administrative support, event planning, or a related field, preferably within collegiate or professional sports.
Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelors degree
Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment. Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
