JOB SUMMARY
Position is responsible for the effective program management for game day operations of all campus athletic activities, competitions, and events. Responsible for all aspects of student employment regarding the game day program. Oversees, organizes, leads and administers all related operations and people.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB(provide list of items which are essential to effective outcomes in this role):
Responsible for a first-class game day environment for student athletes, coaches, teams, fans and visitors. Manage and supervise all home intercollegiate athletic events as assigned.
Responsible for staffing and scheduling student workers to ensure the gameday program has sufficient coverage. Train game day staff, support staff and supervisors. Coordinate regarding physical setup and breakdown of events as needed.
Oversee game day staff, work with department staff (i.e. Sports Information, Marketing), work with other campus departments (i.e. facilities, security, music, student activities), as well as outside vendors, and game officials.
Ensure decisive and effective resolution to any concerns/conflict/complaints that may arise during events while instilling a strong Champions of Character game day culture and experience for all to enjoy.
Plan for and execute a robust schedule of game day promotions including in- game, half-time and game promotional events toward driving game attendance.
Assume a leadership role regarding communications with visiting teams. Ensure the department "Visiting Team Guide" includes accurate information and is distributed to teams prior to their game.
Coordinate with visiting team regarding bus drop-off and pick-up, parking, locker room assignments, practice times, and any other needs they arise.
Manage and maintain an inventory of all athletic facility equipment. Oversee repairs as needed and coordinate the disposal of equipment that is no longer in use.
Work collaboratively with Assistant AD regarding ticket sales strategies and operations including accounting of all gate receipts including concession stand operations and revenues. Oversee all aspects of concession stand operations (i.e. stocking, scheduling workers, maintaining equipment).
Work collaboratively with Assistant AD toward efficient scheduling of games and practices in athletic facilities. Collaborate with coaches to ensure their schedules are up-to-date and do not conflict with other sports/teams.
Provide support to Assistant AD in the management of athletic department transportation as needed. Ensure department policies and procedures are followed specific to the scheduling of vehicle use, issuing of keys and vehicle maintenance.

Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION: (education based on essential job duties and requirements consistent with business necessity):
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field of study, master’s degree preferred.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: (experience based on requirements in role and are consistent with business necessity)
Prior experience actively working within an athletic department with responsibility specific to event or program management/operations duties is essential.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse client group. Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted professional behavior, etiquette and standards of protocol that are appropriate within a collegiate athletic setting.
Commitment to providing leadership to support operations as well as work within the game day operations area of the Athletics mission and willingness to collaborate with other staff members to effectively handle department-wide initiatives that cross over intra-departmental boundaries (special events, campus projects, NAIA Championships, etc.).

May require evening and weekend activities for certain events and meetings.
