Men’s Assistant Basketball Coach

The Office of Athletics at Florida College is seeking applicants for the position of Men’s Assistant Basketball Coach to aid with development, leadership and supervision of a comprehensive and competitive Varsity Men’s Basketball program. The Men’s Assistant Basketball Coach will actively support the responsibilities below while maintaining commitment to Florida College’s mission and core values. This role reports to the Men’s Head Basketball Coach and is responsible for all activities of the Men’s Basketball program. This is a contract position which does not include benefits.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruitment and retention of qualified student athletes and the development of sustainable, competitive rosters
• Assist in monitoring the academic progress for all student athletes in the men’s basketball program
• Assist with organization of program’s camps and clinics
• Assist with scheduling of all competitions and events and corresponding travel arrangements
• Assist with fundraising support for program needs
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work with a diverse student and staff population

• The successful candidate will work as a team member as well as independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Collegiate coaching, recruiting and/or playing experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Effective organizational and time management skills
• Considerable knowledge of computers and various software packages used for word processing, graphs, table, etc. (FastScout, FastDraw, Synergy Editor, Hudl, Microsoft Office 2003, Excel)
