Franklin College, an NCAA Division III institution and member of the Heartland Collegiate
Athletic Conference, invites applications for an Assistant Men Basketball Coach position within
the Athletic Department. This is a part-time, salary exempt, 10-month position responsible for
assisting the Head Basketball Coach in all aspects of the Basketball program, including but not
limited to, skill development, recruitment and other duties as assigned. This position offers a
competitive stipend, free housing, and a meal plan, providing an excellent opportunity at the
NCAA Division III level.
This position will assist conducting practices, motivating athletes, and instructing athletes in the
strategies and techniques used during Basketball games. Secondary duties will be assisting with
the workflow of all systems and processes involved with the campus employment of registered
students.

• Organize practices
• Game preparation
• Fund raising & public relations expectations, presenting a professional image of the

college;

• Coach and oversee supplemental games during the Basketball season;
• Assist with the workflow of all systems and processes involved with the campus

employment of registered students;

• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college is required; Master’s

preferred;

• A minimum of at least 1-2 years of coaching or previous plyaing experience;
• This position must promote a balanced lifestyle with student-athletes;
• Strong organization skills, and effective written and oral communication skills.
• Preference will be given for NCAA Division III experience.
