Summary of Job Duties: Under the direction of the Head Men’s Basketball Coach, the Chief of Staff will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of daily office activities, providing high-level administrative support, professional coordination, and advice to all coaching staff and support staff. The Chief of Staff will ensure that their head coach's time is spent appropriately to achieve milestones and goals set by head coach. Primary duties will consist of communicating the team's strategic initiatives and objectives, the liaison with areas within athletic department, and oversight of camps. Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Men's Basketball Coach.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning
At least four years of experience working in administrative work
Previous experience with a Division 1 Men's Basketball Program
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge of NCAA and SEC regulations
Knowledge of MS Office Suite to include Word and Excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills and a commitment to customer service
Ability to manage several tasks and/or projects simultaneously
Ability to analyze and interpret policy and procedural guidelines to resolve problems
