Job Description

The University of Jamestown has an opening for a men’s basketball graduate assistant coach. The graduate assistant coach will assist the head coach with all aspects of the program in accordance with NCAA and University of Jamestown rules.

This position will have a variable work week to include occasional evenings/weekends and is a 2-year commitment.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

•                     Activity Management – Assist in the management and administration of all activities related to men’s basketball.

•                     Player Development – Assist in on-court instruction, directing small-group and individual workouts, presenting film breakdowns, and creating player development plans.

•                     Recruiting – Assist in designing and implementing recruiting strategies, communication and evaluation of prospective student athletes, and off-campus recruiting.

•                     Academic Monitoring – Assist in constructing and maintaining an academic monitoring system for student-athletes.

•                     Opponent Scouting – Assist in designing and constructing opponent scouting reports, evaluating opponent film, and implementing game plans.

•                     Operations – Assist in planning team travel, management of budget, directing of youth camps, scheduling of games and practices, organization of facilities and storage, and inventory of team equipment.
