The Office of Athletics at Florida College is seeking applicants for the position of Head Men’s Basketball Coach to provide development, leadership and supervision of a comprehensive and competitive Varsity Men’s Basketball program. This position reports to the Florida College Athletic Director and is responsible for all activities of the Men’s Basketball program.

Ensure compliance with institutional, conference and association rules and regulations. In partnership with Internal Operations, monitor eligibility of incoming and current student-athletes.
Plan, develop, and run organized practice sessions and secure officials for home games. Work in conjunction with the Director of Athletics to develop game schedules, and plan major purchases; manage budget and secure travel arrangements including meals, lodging, and transportation in accordance with allowances; Select, purchase, and maintenance of all team equipment while adhering to athletic department and Florida College identity standards.
Monitor student-athletes academic progress and implement strategies to ensure academic and athletic success; Ensure academic success of basketball student-athletes, student-athletes’ retention and graduation rates and GPA should be comparable to those of all Florida College students. Reinforce the Florida College culture by demonstrating sportsmanship, integrity, a competitive spirit, and the importance of academics.
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university
3+ years of coaching experience at the collegiate level
1+ years supervisory experience (program or people)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience coaching intercollegiate athletics at NAIA or NCAA level
Experience with fundraising
Proven record of success both on and off the court
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Excellent fiscal, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead and manage assistant coaches and student staff members
Extensive knowledge and skills in budget development and management
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally
Effective organizational and time management skills
Considerable knowledge of computers and various software packages used for word processing, graphs, table, etc. (FastScout, FastDraw, Synergy Editor, Hudl, Microsoft Office 2003, Excel)
