Bryn Athyn College seeks a Men’s Ice Hockey Coach to manage all administrative aspects of the practices and games for the Men’s ACHA M2 Program. The Men’s Ice Hockey coach is responsible for the active recruitment of qualified student athletes that meet academic standards and profile of the college, and to create and sustain an atmosphere that promotes academic, athletic, and personal growth resulting in overall success of student athletes. In coordination with the Director of Athletics, the Men’s Hockey Ice Hockey coach will assist in the administrative aspects of equipment ordering, fund raising, practice and game scheduling. POSITION SUMMARY:

Recruit, coach, organize, and administer the Men’s Ice Hockey program at Bryn Athyn College

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assist the Director of Athletics with the administrative aspects of the program including team travel, scheduling of games and coordination of practice times with the ice hockey facility and men’s ice hockey team

2. Actively recruit qualified student athletes that meet academic standards and profile of the college; identify potential student athletes through off campus recruitment and coordination of on-campus visits

3. Create and sustain an atmosphere that promotes academic, athletic, and personal growth resulting in overall success of student athletes

4. Identify, recruit, and supervise assistant coach

5. Assists in the Organized fundraising activities that support team operating expenses

6. Demonstrate an understanding of and ability to support the College mission

7. Function as a collegial team member by working with all members of the Bryn Athyn College community, including a willingness to participate in campus events and committees

8. Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (minimum credential)

2. Demonstrated, significant success playing and/or coaching at the collegiate or equivalent hockey level

3. Knowledge of the NCAA and ACHA Hockey Rules and Regulations

4. USA Hockey confirmation number required

5. USA Hockey requires the SafeSport and screenings for any coach who meets, coaches, and/or instructs youth hockey players during recruitment. (It is possible BAC will have players on our team who are classified as minors.)

6. Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed

7. Strong organizational and communication skills

8. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

9. Proficiency using MS Word and Excel

10. Valid US driver’s license

11. Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally
