The Naval Academy Athletic Association (NAAA), founded in 1891, is a nonprofit organization whose objective is to "promote, influence, and assist in financing the varsity athletic programs of the midshipmen of the United States Naval Academy" in accordance with the policy of the Superintendent of the Academy. Through an intercollegiate athletics program that is one of the largest in the country, every midshipman, male and female, is afforded the opportunity to compete in athletics at the Division I level. The emphasis on physical fitness is borne out in the first line of the mission of the U.S. Naval Academy: To develop midshipmen morally, mentally and physically.

The Naval Academy Athletic Association (NAAA) has an opening for a Men’s and Women’s Varsity Track and Field Athletic Trainer. Responsibilities include, providing medical coverage for both Track and Field programs, creating a comprehensive plan associated with preventing injuries, and caring for acute athletically related injuries. This is an additional Athletic Trainer position. There is currently one Athletic Trainer in place.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The applicant should have an understanding and baseline knowledge of gait training, movement screening, general medical conditions, and a recognition of overuse injuries associated with Track and Field.
This position will also have other duties as assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine. Duties also include assistance in the day-to-day operations of a training room; ensure proper use of the equipment and facilities, adherence to time schedules, maintain accurate medical records, and oversight of Certified Athletic Training Interns.
Qualifications
Requirements are that you are a Certified Athletic Trainer, in good standing with the NATABOC; ability to become or already a Licensed Athletic Trainer by the Maryland Board of Physicians.
Prefer 3-5 years of post-graduate collegiate track and field experience.

Work Conditions/Physical Requirements
The individual must be able to lift a minimum of 45 lbs., and work in many environmental conditions; Indoor or Outdoor.

The individual must be able to work evenings, weekends, and travel with the teams as required.
