Department Information
The Georgia Tech Athletic Associate (GTAA) sponsors varsity intercollegiate athletics competition in 17 NCAA Division I sports for the Georgia Institute of Technology. We are a proud member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Steeped in history and success while embracing strategic innovation, our programs compete at the highest level and strive for national championships. Tech fans are passionate about their support of their beloved Yellow Jackets and cherish the many traditions involved with the program.
Provide direct counseling service to Georgia Tech Athletics student-athletes, as well as consultation and outreach to campus community. Provide crisis intervention and after-hours on-call emergency consultation. This position will interact on a regular basis with: unit and department staff, campus staff, community mental health providers, clients, students and patientsThis position typically will advise and counsel: unit and department staff, campus staff, community mental health providers, clients, students and patientsThis position will supervise: NA
Job Duty 1 -
Provide initial screenings/intakes/assessment; provide individual, group and couples counseling.
Job Duty 2 -
Maintain thorough clinical documentation, including assessments, notes and evaluations.
Job Duty 3 -
Provide crisis intervention and after-hours emergency on-call coverage.
Job Duty 4 -
Provide outreach and consultation to students and campus groups.
Job Duty 5 -
Perform other duties as assigned
Educational Requirements
Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related mental health field
Other Required Qualifications
Currently licensed in professional discipline in Georgia or in another state. If licensed in another state, must be able to obtain state of Georgia license within one year.
Required Experience
Two to three years of job related experience
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Fully licensed in the discipline of professional counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or other qualified discipline (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc.)
SKILLS
This job requires knowledge of computer-based productivity systems; professional, national and state ethical guidelines; mental health issues in higher educations; working with diverse populations and concerns; and successful collaboration with others.
