The Multimedia Assistant for Creative, reporting to the Director of Digital Media, will oversee the videography and video production efforts for Towson University Athletics. The Multimedia Assistant will be familiar and comfortable with DSLR cameras, post-production, lighting, etc. This position will develop best standards and practices for coverage of events and for shoots. This position will also work with the Director of Digital Media and both internal and external partners to identify needs, solutions, and work to raise the quality of video production. The Multimedia Assistant will help in the maintaining and upgrading of equipment and in the recruitment and training of student interns. This position will also help complete other duties as assigned.

The work hours for this position include evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Travel is required.
Qualifications and Skills
Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Two years of experience in the operation of audio-visual or multimedia equipment
Working knowledge of the operation and routine maintenance of multimedia equipment; ability to operate multimedia equipment; to use electronic testing, hand and power tools; to perform extensive standing and walking; to lift and carry multimedia and testing equipment; to use personal computers; to communicate effectively; to follow oral and written instructions.
Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Media & Film or a related field; or related experience in the industry
• Background in video production
• Knowledge of systems and equipment used for video production
• Ability to handle multiple projects at once with varying deadlines
• Ability to show good judgement and represent the Towson University Athletic Department in a positive light
Salary and Benefits
$21.12 per hour and a contract that offers annual leave, holidays, sick days. Contractual employees scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage. The position is contingent on funds being available at time of hire.
