Experience working with

regulations) related to athletic academic eligibility.
Experience independently researching materials to compile, develop and summarize for professional reports on a frequent or recurring basis.
Experience analyzing information, identifying problems, defining alternatives, and developing recommendations for administrators.
Experience interpreting and applying rules, regulations, and laws regarding student records
Evidence of the ability to work independently and as a team member.
Documented experience communicating orally and in writing with varied stakeholders.
Ability to work with deadlines, time pressures and in difficult situations .

The
NCAA
Athletics Certification Officer is responsible for obtaining, evaluating, and documenting the academic credentials in accordance with National Collegiate Athletic Association (
NCAA
) and Conference eligibility rules for approximately 400+ student-athletes. This individual is required to acquire a complete knowledge of
NCAA
academic regulations and specifically
NCAA
Bylaw 14. This position is also responsible for providing official certification of eligibility documentation to the Department of Athletics. This position does not represent the University in making policy and procedures regarding
NCAA
eligibility, however, this individual is responsible for communicating those policies and procedures to the various stakeholders in the certification process.
Update and monitor individual student athlete (SA) eligibility worksheets and team eligibility worksheets on a continuous basis. Provide feedback and projections regarding
NCAA
eligibility to Athletics Academic Center in a timely manner. Oversee the monitoring of full-time enrollment of SAs, managers, male practice players and graduate assistants.
Review the academic credentials for each SA to determine eligibility status. Assimilate and file appropriate documentation to support certification (i.e.,
NCAA
SA Details Report, transcripts, degree audits, academic progress forms, etc.).
Conduct an academic pre-evaluation for prospective student-athletes and provide accurate and timely feedback to the Athletics Compliance Office.
Assist in the annual reporting of Academic Progress Rates (
APR
) with the Athletics Compliance Office.
Create, distribute, review, compile and file the academic progress forms from the College Advising centers. Follow up with each College Advising center in a timely manner for clarification when needed.
Supervise the Assistant
NCAA
Certification Officer and overall operations of the Certification Office.
