POSITION PURPOSE: Within the Department of Athletics, the Athletics Compliance office serves staff, coaches, and student-athletes. It is responsible for the organization and administration of the Athletics Department's National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) compliance program.
Under general supervision of the Director of Athletics, the NCAA Athletics Compliance Specialist provides expertise of NCAA compliance within the Department of Athletics, ensuring adherence to NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations. The position contributes to the development and implementation of compliance policies, monitors key areas such as recruiting, eligibility, and financial aid, and independently leads investigations into potential violations. Serving as the primary compliance officer, the NCAA Athletics Compliance Specialist collaborates with campus and external partners, oversees compliance education and tracking systems, and ensures required reporting for gender equity and other regulatory obligations, fostering a culture of integrity and accountability.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE – Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and four (4) years of relevant experience. Additional experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: SEDENTARY WORK – involves mainly sitting; minimal walking and standing; lifting light weight objects limited to 15 pounds.
