The NCAA Compliance Director organizes and administers the Athletics Department’s National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) compliance program. The Director certifies eligibility and processes financial aid for student-athletes, monitors coaches’ activities relative to rule compliance, and interacts with departmental staff members and coaches to ensure compliance with NCAA rules and regulations.
The NCAA Compliance Director is also responsible for educational, monitoring, and investigating components and other areas that ensure good standing and adherence to NCAA, Pacific West Conference, and University policies and procedures.
The NCAA Compliance Director must be familiar with and adhere to NCAA rules and regulations and strongly commit to Chaminade University, the Pacific West Conference, and NCAA Division II rules pertaining to institutional control and compliance.

Administration (20 % of work time)

Serves as a member of the Title IX Team.
Serves as a member of Committee as appointed by the Director of Athletics
Serves as a senior administrator and may be eligible for the NCAA’s Senior Women’s Administrator (SWA) designation.
Assists with game management responsibilities at hosted athletic events on a rotation basis with other administrators.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, Masters, Earned Doctorate or Juris Doctorate preferred. Minimum Experience: Three years of experience in the area of NCAA athletics compliance experience. Interscholastic and community recreation management experience may be taken into consideration. Juris Doctorate designation may substitute for some years of experience.
Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc) and ability to learn specific sports and academic/university-related computer programs, including Teamworks.

The ability to maintain confidentiality – basic knowledge of FERPA.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Effective interpersonal and leadership skills.
The ability to work cooperatively and effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
The ability to multi-task and perform accurate, detail-oriented work.
Thorough knowledge of NCAA Division II rules and regulations.
Able to utilize the NCAA Legislative Services Data Base (LSDBi).
Familiar with NCAA Compliance Assistant Software (CAi).
Must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License and have the ability to pass a motor vehicle record check
Must pass the Chaminade University Driver’s van test to transport teams and individuals and be cleared and approved to perform the tasks
Duties involve light work in an office and community setting and require minimal physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines. Must be able to lift 20 pounds, easily walk the campus, and have excellent motor skills. Must have finger dexterity. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand.
● This is a full-time, exempt position. Forty hours per week (M-F) will be the general rule. However, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be occasionally required depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the department. Must be willing and able to work occasional nights and weekends and have a varying schedule when required
