RESPONSIBILITIES
This position provides support to the student-athletes and coaching staff of all ICA sport programs. The position will have extensive involvement with students and coaches on a daily basis, both collectively and individually. The primary responsibilities will be to provide analysis and data to identify and support NIL opportunities for student-athletes.
Using analytic skills, assess and evaluate appropriate strategies for generating NIL revenue for ICA student-athletes. This position is responsible for developing plans to generate and maximize ICA NIL resources, working with athletics administrators, head coaches, and athletes to ensure the university has a clear path for current and future NIL success and the resources needed to support that plan.
This position will collect and analyze data to develop and maintain an NIL tracking and management system to record and report, as required by the NCAA, the Conference, any external entities, NIL contracts, deals and revenue as well as identify opportunities for growth and strategic shifts in the marketplace. Develop and implement NIL educational materials to educate, enrich, and progress and development of each student-athlete in the program as an athlete, a student, and a high performing member of the community. Collect and track strength numbers, game statistics and metrics throughout the season and over the course of each student athlete’s career at the University of Washington.
Engage with existing and potential NIL opportunities to ensure fulfillment and timely execution.
Evaluate and analyze potential NIL opportunities for prospective student-athletes. Assist the coaching and creative staffs of all sport programs in developing NIL presentations for recruits. Assist with campus recruiting activities to describe potential NIL opportunities to prospective student-athletes. Assist in managing the recruiting calendar, recruiting databases and on campus recruiting events for all sport programs.
Interface with the athletic department student-facing areas to ensure student-athletes maximize their potential in all facets of their lives, on and off the field and court. Develop alumni relations in conjunction with the Tyee Club and community relations in the Seattle community to develop relationships and business opportunities. Serve as a mentor to student-athletes in their financial and personal affairs. Work closely with affiliated collective(s) with the University to understand overall compensation potential and work collaboratively and creatively to think of ways to grow and expand compensation potential. Frequently connect with MMR and other partners to advocate for NIL inclusion in sponsorship deals.
Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University. The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience in operations and project management, sports marketing, student-athlete development and/or compliance, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ability in spreadsheets, data modeling, CRM systems, API feeds and other relevant software applications.
• Strong awareness and working knowledge of compliance education, rules and regulations. Demonstrated commitment to promoting and supporting an environment of diversity and inclusion.
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum requirements.
