Job Duties

• Assist in the planning, organizing, and execution of daily practices, game strategies, and team development.
• Provide specialized coaching and skill development for a specific position group, as assigned by the Head Coach.
• Assist in the recruitment and evaluation of prospective student-athletes in accordance with NCAA, conference, and university regulations.
• Mentor and develop student-athletes on and off the field, emphasizing academic achievement, character development, and personal growth.
• Collaborate with academic support staff to monitor student-athlete progress and provide necessary support to ensure academic success.
• Assist with the organization of team travel, equipment management, and other logistical aspects of the program.
• Engage in community service and outreach initiatives to promote Norfolk State University and the football program.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity while representing the university in a positive manner.
• Participate in fundraising and promotional activities as required.
• Other duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach.

Minimum Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience at the collegiate, high school, or professional level.
• Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, techniques, and strategies.
• Ability to effectively recruit and develop student-athletes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes.
• Knowledge of and compliance with NCAA, conference, and university rules and regulations.

Additional Considerations

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Collegiate playing experience.
• NCAA Division I (FCS/FBS) coaching experience
