Organization Summary Statement:

The University Health Center, supporting the Division of Student Affairs, is recruiting for a Nutrition Associate supporting our Football Program. This position will actively participate as a member of the Maryland Sports Nutrition staff and assist the full time Director of Football Nutrition in the daily management and operations of football nutrition services. Responsibilities include oversight of all fueling stations, nutrition education initiatives, in- season fueling plans, menu development, cooking classes, and related programming. This is an in person position reporting daily to College Park, MD and will travel as needed.

Preferences:

  • Assist with overseeing various nutrition related operations within the weight room and training room environments, including fueling station oversight, product inventory, and ordering.

  • Help manage nutrition education, counseling, and fueling strategies for the football team, ensuring alignment with performance goals and NCAA guidelines.

  • Assist with management of operations of home and away football games.

  • Assist with sweat testing athletes to create individualized hydration plans.

  • Communicate with various vendors to ensure proper deliveries of catered meals.

  • Assist with conducting and analyzing DEXA scans and utilizing data to support performance and body composition goals. 

  • Supervise, manage and mentor undergraduate volunteers and interns. 

  • Collaborate with Dining Services and Director of football nutrition for the development and execution of daily meals, taste testing demonstrations, cooking classes, and special events.

  • Engage in team talks and educational presentations based on team needs and seasonal demands.
