The Offensive Coordinator’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, implementing and directing all aspects of the offense, including the daily management of the assistant offensive coaches, and assisting the head football coach with recruitment, roster management, travel planning, and coaching. Out of season, the Offensive Coordinator will have some limited teaching responsibility and some administrative duties, as assigned by the Athletic Director and/or the Associate Athletic Director. This is a full-time administrative position reporting directly to the Head Football Coach and secondarily to the Athletic Director.
This is an exempt position with a pay range of $75,000 - $95,000.
Responsibilities
Supervise and direct the offensive staff to develop an effective team offense that will fulfill the goals and objectives of the football program
Evaluate all aspects of the offensive team including student-athlete development and staff
Game-plan and direct the offense during all regular and postseason competition
Organize and coordinate all offensive staff meetings, evaluate offensive staff and implement work schedules
Assist in game preparations and planning, practice preparations and in conducting practice sessions
Coordinate the recruitment process, recruit prospective student-athletes for the football program throughout the state and region
Participate in the film process; capturing footage, game breakdown, evaluation and sharing
Teach in the Physical Education program – every student at Hamilton must successfully complete three activity classes, a fitness assessment and a swim test as part of their requirements
Assist the department with administrative tasks as needed and assigned by the Athletic Director or any member of the department’s administrative team
Collaborate with Sports Medicine regarding injury prevention strategies and student-athlete rehabilitation techniques
Ensure the safety of all student-athletes by scheduling practice sessions in compliance with applicable rules and regulations, overseeing selection and fitting of team equipment and making recommendations for improvements to equipment and supplies
Plan and organize team travel including coordinating appropriate budget with Athletic Business Office for travel and related expenses
Manage alumni relations and coordinate correspondence with alumni, boosters, and parents
Promote the Athletics Department and Program through community events, public speaking, fundraising and marketing
Monitor and maintain the discipline and conduct of student athletes to support the image and reputation of the Athletics Department, Program and College
Ensure adherence to all NCAA, NESCAC (or other conference) and College rules by athletes, supporting staff and others and reporting of any potential issues to Head Coach and/or Athletic Director
In absence of Head Coach, and with approval of Athletics Director, ensure continued operations of Program and assume Head Coach duties and responsibilities as assigned
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in an appropriate area of specialization
Experience coaching and/or playing at the intercollegiate level is required
Valid, active driver’s license required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of and the ability to teach and coach the sport, specializing in each aspect of the offense
Must be able to work mornings, evenings and weekends
Strong interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills used to collaborate with athletes, trainers and other coaches
Knowledge and continued compliance of NCAA and NESCAC rules, education and training
