The Athletic Department is a vital part of student life and the educational process at Elizabeth City State University. Reporting to the Head Football Coach, the Offensive Coordinator is responsible for all administrative and organizational aspects of the offense. The coach will directly supervise all offensive assistant coaches, student-athletes, must operate within the guidelines of an NCAA Division II football program and within the mission of the University and its philosophy of intercollegiate athletics. The coach will guide and actively encourage student-athletes to succeed academically, acquire a degree and represent the University with the highest integrity.The Offensive Coordinator is also responsible for the development and administration of all offensive game plans and the materials necessary to execute them. The coach is also responsible for the recruitment of student-athletes, adhering to NCAA, CIAA Conference, and University regulations with regard to recruiting, admission standards and eligibility, monitoring student-athlete academic progress, and assisting in the establishment of effective media relations. As assigned by the Head Football Coach, the Offensive Coordinator will participate in fundraising activities and serve as a representative of the University to the outside community when appropriate.
Required Skills: Must have extensive knowledge in all Microsoft Office Programs, must be able to operate “Hudl” video program. Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, admissions and financial aid officers, fellow employees and all stakeholders. Working knowledge of Division II, NCAA, CIAA, and University rules and regulations. As Offensive Coordinator, direct involvement with all administrative and organizational aspects of the offensive under the supervision of the Head Football Coach.• Supervise all offensive assistant coaches and offensive support staff. • Coordinate all coaching assignments for the offensive staff including film breakdown, on-field, and all administrative responsibilities.• Supervise all offensive student-athletes in a coordinated and planned program of practices and competition, with a concern for the players’ health and welfare, physical and psychological preparation.• Responsible for an Offensive Coordinator Portfolio/Manual and Playbook• Responsible for recruiting academically and athletically qualified student-athletes to meet the University’s admission standards and enrollment goals.• In cooperation with the Compliance Officer, and Academics coordinator, uphold all University academic policies and assist, when appropriate, in counseling student-athletes relative to academic success, progress, and eligibility• Foster and maintain positive student body and faculty relations with student-athletes.• Participate in public and alumni relations and promotions activities as assigned by the Head Football Coach.• Assist the Head Football Coach in cultivating and soliciting donors to meet the fundraising goals.• Assist in establishing and maintaining positive relations with the media• Maintain current knowledge of and adhere to all University, NCAA, and CIAA Conference Rules and Regulations, Policies and Procedures paying special attention to student conduct, recruiting, eligibility, admissions, and financial aid
Bachelor’s degree, 3-5 years of experience, previous college coaching and recruiting experience required; Master’s degree preferred.
