The Head Women’s Track & Field Coach will oversee the administration of all aspects of the Track & Field program including, coaching, recruiting, contest scheduling, student athlete mentoring and ensuring the program is compliant with
NCAA
, Conference and University rules and regulations. Individual will assist with the promotion of the team as well as the University of Nebraska Omaha.
Leadership and Management:
Instruct student-athletes in the sport, which includes skill instruction, motivation, and conduct session practices. Requires effective feedback during competitions.
Anticipates needs of program, works with support staff and members of Omaha Athletics to ensure execution of responsibilities.
Communicate efficiently with Athletic leadership and student-athletes on strategic direction for the program
Strategy and Planning:
Organize recruiting efforts of staff, including scheduling of all on and off campus visits, depth charts, mailout schedule, and maintain
NCAA
Compliance.
Create meet/race and practice plans to give feedback and guide future instruction.
Develop and maintain strategic direction for the program, including administration of allocated resources to maximize athletic performance outcomes.
Strategic Planning & Leadership
Implement personal player development for the team on and off the track. Create an evaluation system for individuals work to track progress.
Help administer the facets of the program, such as organizing practices, venue logistics, individual workouts, purchasing subscriptions, booking of all team travel and managing team expenses and assisting in capital planning.
Define priorities for competition, including event participation, to ensure positioning for student-athlete success
Management
Instruct student athletes in the sport during practice, individual skill instruction, and film analysis.
Prepare for competition with video and/or statistical analysis and give feedback during competition.
Engage the public, donors, and media in support of the program by attending community functions representing
UNO
.
