Under general supervision of the Senior Maintenance and Operations Manager, the Senior Operations Supervisor uses discretion and independent judgment to hire, coordinate, supervise personnel and subcontractors, and other daily activities directly related to the management of general business operations for the Baxter Arena. These duties require the successful execution of all events and maintenance of the entire facility. The Senior Operations Supervisor will determine appropriate staffing levels for all events and manage their activities. This will include training employees on preparing and maintaining the facility for hockey, basketball, volleyball, and other outside contracted events to include appropriate staging.Addiitonally, the Senior Operations Supervisor will manage personnel tasks for A/V and operations such as: Reviewing candidates’ applications for A/V and operations Contacting and setting up interviews with candidates. Interviewing and giving a tour of Baxter to potential candidates Conduct certain aspects of onboarding; background check, i9 form, intent to hire forms, and functions in the applicant tracking system

• Direct supervision of approximately 30 part-time employees in various functions. Responsibilities include: determining staffing levels, interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.• Implement and train employees on the operating procedures, preventative maintenance schedules, emergency plans, and safety/risk management policies that conform to university standards.• Train and assist employees with installation of ice, repairing of ice and covering of ice. This includes freezing floor; painting base color, lines and logos; and building up the ice sheet. Assist with preparing ice for all practices, games and other ice events. Duties include: removing debris, checking ice depth; scraping, edging and resurfacing ice. Train and assist employees to prepare and cover ice for events that require a regular floor surface. Train and assist with repairing and building ice. Must be familiar with techniques for repairing and building ice around hockey goals and other areas that lose ice. Train and assist with operating and maintaining the ice re-surfacer and ice-edger.• Training employees and overseeing part time employees on how to paint and maintain equipment.• Oversee all employees regarding aspects of operations including, set-ups and changeovers, and requirements to maintain ADA compliance for accessibility within the complex.• Oversee employees performing maintenance of hockey, basketball and volleyball and staging equipment.• Inspect work done on conversions, construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established specifications.• Work with subcontractors to determine special requirements and amount of staff to be hired.• Manage relationship between tenants and facility contractors as needed.• Reviewing candidates’ applications for A/V and operation• Contacting and setting up interviews with candidates• Interviewing and giving a tour of Baxter to potential candidates• Conduct certain aspects of onboarding; background check, i9 form, intent to hire forms, and functions in the applicant tracking system
