Under the general supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer and Athletic Director, the Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries within the University’s comprehensive sports medicine program.
Essential duties include but are not limited to:
Prevention of athletic injuries and illnesses Evaluation of athletic injuries Treatment of athletic injuries Providing counseling and education to student athletes Athletic training administrative duties Assist with coordination and scheduling of medical coverage for home and away competitions Supervision, education and recruitment of potential student athletic trainers Record keeping and documentation Work with doctors and other allied health professionals to deliver care to student athletes Work in conjunction with the coaching staff to ensure safety in the design and implementation of fitness, nutrition, and conditioning programs customized to meet individual student athlete needs Maintain current certification status and stay up to date on all continuing education requirements by utilizing continuing education outlets to explore new ideas and adapt to the training room environment

The anticipated rate for this position is $32.00 – $40.00 per hour and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
