Job Description:
Responsible for assisting in coaching, recruiting, scheduling and budgeting of the University’s intercollegiate Division III men’s Basketball program. Teaches activity classes, and a second assignment within the Athletic Department will be required.
Assists coaching the intercollegiate Division III Men's Basketball program.
Recruits qualified student-athletes according to TU Admission Office guidelines.
Assists the Head Coach in developing a schedule of contests for each season and makes appropriate arrangements for travel to out of town contests.
Teaches activity courses.
Assists the Head Coach with developing and proposing a men’s basketball budget annually and to manage expenditures within the allocation.
Assumes position of second assignment in the Athletic Department as determined by the Director of Athletics and Head Coach.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
EDUCATION
Required:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
EXPERIENCE
Required:
Played college basketball, preferably at the Division III level.
Preferred:
One year to 2 years coaching experience at any level.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Required:
Demonstrated effectiveness in the recruitment of student athletes and the instructional aspects of coaching.
Ability to manage multiple social media accounts.
Preferred:
Group dynamics.
Basketball skill development.
Basic understanding of technical aspects for basketball skills and strategy.
Proficiency in all phases of the duties performed.
Coaching, recruiting, budget management, and scheduling.
Roster management.
Interpersonal communication skills parents; students; and alumni.
Knowledge and ability to communicate the value of a Trinity’s education.
Awareness of current and future needs for the basketball program's success and development.
