The SUNY Geneseo Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation, part of the Division of Student and Campus Life, seeks qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Coach (part-time) in a specific sport. This is a pool posting and applicants will be reviewed only when there is a need to fill a position. This part-time, 10-month position will assist in the organization, implementation, and skill instruction of daily practice, and game-day preparation. Must demonstrate the ability to instruct the student/athletes (team) in all aspects of coaching in the absence of the head coach. The anticipated annual salary will not exceed $4,500.00 The selected candidate is expected to adhere to all NCAA, SUNYAC and SUNY Geneseo rules and regulations.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Assist in the organization, implementation and skill instruction of daily practice, and game-day preparation.

Teach and train student-athletes in skills and strategies specific to particular sport/defense/offense, etc.

Evaluate and analyze the game play reports of opposing team; then, instruct the student-athletes on methods of developing strategies to address the opposing team’s game tactics

Assist with recruiting as needed

Instruct the team in all aspects of coaching in the absence of the head coach.

Assist in organization and execution of non-traditional and preseason practices, games, training and conditioning programs.
